I was raised in Dokis as a Dokis First Nation member and I enjoy raising my family in this beautiful community that I have always called home. I have been in the position of Band Manager since April 1, 2014. Previously, I was the Community Health Representative for approximately eight years and prior to my CHR days I worked in the Human Resources Department at Casino Rama. I graduated from Hon.BSc. in Kinesiology (2004) and then a Post Graduate Certificate in Human Resources Management (2005).
I am proud to represent Dokis First Nation as the Aboriginal Consultation Coordinator. As a former business owner, my experience will prove to be a vital asset to the community. I graduated in 2009 with a Network Engineering Technologist Diploma from Canadian Career College.
Over the past six years, I have represented Dokis as the Community & Economic Development Coordinator. I have been involved in Forest Mangement, GIS Mapping, Fisheries & Environmental Assessments, Historical Research and planning fundraising events such as our Annual Dokis Summerfest.
I represent Dokis First Nation on the following committees:
A lifelong resident of Dokis, I have been employed with our First Nation since 1988. My position has been very rewarding over the years as I continue to offer service to our members in person, through internet, over the phone, both on and off reserve.
My background in clerical/administration has given me the opportunity to expand into different areas -In May 2004, I have taken on the responsibility of Indian Registry Administrator, a task I thoroughly enjoy and most recently, Finance Assistant.

A band member of Dokis First Nation, I have 5 children and am a grandfather of 3 boys...so far!
I was hired as the Project Manager for Eco-tourism / Non-timber Forest Products and Forestry Representative for Dokis First Nation. I am currently working on completion of a hiking trail system for Dokis.
I am a volunteer firefighter, hockey coach and manager of Dokis Hockey Team.
I am the Dokis First Nation Conservation Officer. The goal of the Conservation Officer is to protect our inland lakes and waterways from unauthorized use by non-band members and have permits/passes for visitors to certain areas of our First Nation Territory.
I maintain and enforce band policy in regards to hunting and fishing regulations, observing and enforcing fire hazard guidelines. I also monitor logging resources not only being harvested but what is leaving the First Nation without authorization.
I participate in surveys in conjunction with the Ministry of Natural Resources to preserve and protect our natural water resource, spawning areas and the availability of the many species of fish here on our First Nation. This ensures our beautiful and bountiful resources are maintained for future generations to use and enjoy.
"Keep conservation and sustainability in mind, when using our resources."
Born in Sturgeon Falls, I attended OLS and Northern Secondary School and spent most of my summers in Dokis, swimming! Married for 20 yrs, I have 4 children and 1 grandchild.
I've been employed with Dokis First Nation at the "Michel Aigle" Community Complex since it was built in 2000. Through my work, I've met many wonderful people who have visited Dokis via Meetings, Baby Showers, Weddings, Stag & Doe's, Bingos and other Fundraising events held at the Community Complex. The Complex has been newly renovated once again with additions added here and there and over the years I've received numerous complements on our Community Centre which I strive to maintain, in working hard to keep it spotless, inside and out.
The Complex boasts a top quality sound system, projector for meetings and a nice, clean kitchen to cook in! We rent for all occasions to any who would like to utilize our facility.
Hours of operation are Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. For more info or to rent, please contact (705) 763-9990 (Leave Message) or Dokis First Nation at (705) 763-2200.
